According to a press release issued by the Indonesian Embassy in Dakar, Senegal, the wife of the Indonesian Ambassador to Senegal, Nidalia Andrajati, conveyed the offer during a courtesy meeting to Senegal`s First Lady Mariame Macky Sall on Tuesday, July 23.
Nidalia said the first lady had intended to increase the women capacity in Senegal so they could better support their families.
"Senegal and Indonesia could work together to increase the women capacity among other things by improving their weaving skills," she said.
"Indonesia has Citra Tenun Indonesia Foundation that was established by Indonesian First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, as one of right choices to be a partner of cooperation," added Nidalia.
To make the idea into an action plan, Nidalia also invited the Senegal`s first lady to visit Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Mrs Sall welcomed the offer enthusiastically as Senegal is also famous for its traditional woven attires.
"Thank you, that`s a good idea. I am very impressed with Indonesia and it`s my pleasure to visit your country," she said.
During that occasion, Nidalia gave a pair of Indonesian "batik" attires, a "tapis"--Lampung traditional woven clothe, a black velvet cap that specially ordered for President Macky Sall, and some Indonesia tourism information flyers.
While Senegal`s First Lady gave a Senegal`s unique tablecloth as souvenir. "I would like to visit the Wisma Duta Indonesia," she said at the end of the meeting.
