Hopefully people can respect the interest of our child during this process."Los Angeles, Aug 2 (Antara/CNA) - US talent show `X Factor` judge, music producer Simon Cowell, has remained tight-lipped amidst media reports that claim he has fathered a child with Lauren Silverman, the wife of his friend, real-estate mogul Andrew Silverman, reported US media.
36-year-old Lauren Silverman, who is currently in the middle of divorce proceedings with her husband, is reportedly about ten weeks pregnant with Cowell's child.
Cowell was also named a co-respondent in Andrew Silverman's divorce filing some two weeks ago, in which the latter cited adultery as one of the reasons for wanting a divorce.
When asked about the reports of him becoming a father, the normally sharp-tongued Cowell said he had to "keep this private for the moment" during a "X Factor" media event on Thursday.
The 53-year-old later added that "there are a lot of things I will eventually clear up when the time is right".
Andrew Silverman, who has a son with Lauren Silverman, released a statement to the US media that same day about the matter.
"My top priority is protecting my 7-year-old son while working to resolve all outstanding issues with my wife. Hopefully people can respect the interest of our child during this process," said Silverman.
Lauren Silverman also said through her lawyers that she is �committed to sorting things out with Andrew as amicably as possible to ensure the well-being of our son�.
