Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will hold an open house at the state palace on the occasion of Idul Fitri on Thursday, ANTARA learned here on Wednesday.

On the occasion he would receive and exchange greetings with high ranking state officials and later community members.

Like in the years before the president on the occasion would be flanked by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono and also family members.

It has become a tradition for people in the country to exchange greetings and apology on Idul Fitri.

Vice President Boediono meanwhile would also hold an open house at his official residence on Jalan Diponegoro, Central Java, that day.

Former vice president Jusuf Kalla also would hold an open house firstly at his family residence in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Thursday and at his private residence on Jalan Brawijaya, South Jakarta, on Friday.

Former president BJ Habibie would also hold an open house at his private residence in Kuningan, South Jakarta.

Former President Megawati Soekarnoputri however would not hold an open house this year because she is still in mourning following the death of her husband, Taufik Kiemas, recently.

"Ibu (Madame) Megawati would mark the 100th day after the death of Bapak (Mr) Taufik Kiemas on September 15," the secretary general of Megawati`s Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP), Tjahyo Kumolo, said.

Jakarta governor Joko Widodo also would not hold an open house on Idul Fitri. The popular governor would flank President Yudhoyono during the Idul Fitri prayer at the city`s Istiqlal Grand Mosque on Thursday morning and afterwards he would exchange greetings with city administration officials at City Hall and toured the capital city to greet people.

The general chairman of one of the country`s biggest political parties, Golkar, Aburizal Bakrie, meanwhile would hold an open house at his private residence in Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The presidential candidate would be flanked by his family when receiving guests.

Coordinating minister for people`s welfare, Agung Laksono, who is also a Golkar leader, meanwhile would also hold an open house at his residence in Cawang, East Jakarta.
