This is a request from the house owner."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Although Golkar Party General Chairman Aburizal Bakri held an open house for Idul Fitri well-wishers on Thursday, not all journalists were welcome to offer their well-wishes and cover the event.

Security personnel guarding Aburizal`s house in Jalan KH Mangunsarkoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta, prohibited all journalists except reporters from the Viva Media Group from entering the house.

"Sorry, other journalists are not permitted to get into the house. This is a request from the house owner," a security guard said.

Dozens of journalists from news agencies, as well as from various other print, electronic and online media, were only allowed to wait outside and got no opportunity to convey their well-wishes to Aburizal, who is to be nominated by the Golkar Party as its presidential hopeful ahead of next year`s presidential elections.

Even during a heavy downpour on the day, the journalists were only allowed to take shelter under the overhang of his house.

Among the well-wishers visiting Aburizal`s house were Maritime and Fisheries Affairs Sharif Cicip Sutardjo and a number of diplomats from friendly countries such as Iran and New Zealand.
