Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia has been able to maintain its tradition of winning gold medals in the World Taekwondo Hanmadang 2013 Championship in Daejon, South Korea, on August 28-31.

Represented by a Poomsae team groomed by UTI Pro, Indonesia won one gold medal, two silver and four bronze medals in the championship.

"I was satisfied enough with the achievement and the maintenance of the tradition of winning gold medals in Hanmadang," YUTI and UTI Pro Grand Master coach Lioe Nam Khiong said when contacted to tell about the event on Sunday.

The gold medal was contributed by Immanuella Anindita Nugraheni from the Long Jump Breaking Junior event.

The female taekwondo player from Yogyakarta also won a silver medal from the High Jump Breaking Junior.

The other silver medal was contributed by Jhon Junior Mandagi ( North Sulawesi), Christina Agung Intan (Bali), Alfristo Kevin Pranata (Yogyakarta) from the Creative Poomsae group event.

The Poomsae YTI Pro team also won four bronze medals in the event that was attended by participants from 43 countries.

Senior taekwondo player from Yogyakarta Don Bosco Eko SP contributed a bronze medal from the Around Breaking Senior Two event while John Junior Mandagi from North Sulawesi won a bronze medal from Around Breaking Senior One.

Two other bronze medals came from senior player Rahadewineta pairing with Don Bosco Eko SP in the Authorized Poomsae Pair Senior Two event and from Daniel Danny Harsono and Domas Ayu Santoso from the Authorized Poomsae Pair Senior One.

Rahadewineta as the team manager said from year to year the Hanmadang championship kept improving in terms of the number of participants.

"This time 43 countries took part in it which was more than last year's," he said.
