Companies have been asked to increase the security of their websites for their own protection.
Relations between Indonesia and Australia have become strained after allegations emerged of Australia spying on Indonesian officials, including President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
The allegations prompted Indonesian hackers to attack some important Australian websites, which could provoke retaliation from Australian hackers.
The website of Garuda Indonesia, an Indonesian state-owned company, has been mentioned as one of the websites that has been attacked by Australian hackers.
Asked whether his office has also taken any precautionary measures, Dahlan said: "In principle, all BUMNs (state-owned companies) must adopt special security measures to prevent hacking." (*)
