The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) fell 0.26 points or 0.01 percent to 4,412.23 points with index of 45 most liquid stocks down 0.14 percent to 745.34 points.
Chief researcher of Trust Securities Reza Priyambada said some investors sold shares for profit and others continue to buy shares.
Foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp21.919 billion as some of them tended to abandoned the market, Reza said.
HD Capitals analyst Yuganur Wijanarko predicted correction is likely in the BEI index in the following trade.
"After gaining in the past several consecutive days correction is shadowing the market players, Yuganur said .
There were 176,568 transactions in Friday trading at BEI with 3.002 billion share worth Rp3.441 trillion changing hands.
Regional markets such as Hang Seng posted a 0.64 percent increase in index to 23,133.35 points with Nikkei index down 0.08 percent to 15,734.46 points and that of Straits Times gaining 0.22 percent to 3,147.33 points.(*)
