A successful collaboration on the project iCollect
NEC Asia Pacific (NEC APAC) would like to extend their heartfelt congratulations in the e-Government category for the SiTF Awards 2013 (*!) based on the two-year joint collaboration project called iCollect. The iCollect project was also awarded the Gold Award for the MHA 3i Awards (*2) and the Silver Award for the PS21 ExCEL Awards (*3) in 2013.
The iCollect project, unveiled in April 2013, is a self-service machine, which adopts the juke box concept coupled with robotic arm technology to allow the collection of secured documents after the applicants’ identities have been verified via biometric technology. The iCollect machine is located at the eLobby@ICA in ICA Building. Being the first of its kind, iCollect provides an additional channel for suitable Singaporeans and foreigners to collect secured documents such as Singapore Biometric Passports (BioPass), Identity Cards (ICs) and Long Term Pass (LTP) cards after their identities have been verified via biometric technology.
NEC APAC is proud to work with ICA on the iCollect project and will continue to provide support in enhancing Singapore’s security.

The SiTF Awards, organized by Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF), is significant in providing recognition to the development of infocomm innovations locally.
*2. MHA 3i Awards
3i stands for ideas, improvement and innovation, and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) 3i Awards are given out annually to Home Team officers in recognition of their exemplary contributions to the 3i movement

The PS21 ExCEL Awards is an annual event and platform for public officers to showcase and share their innovative ideas, projects and efforts that have created value within the Public Service.
