Cilacap, Central Java (ANTARA News) - The immigration office of Cilacap district in Central Java is awaiting the arrival of International Organization for Migration (IOM) officials to handle the tens of immigrants, evacuated from southern coast of Kebumen district.

"We have made a coordination with IOM but there is no confirmation so far as to when its official will be here to handle the case," Cilacap immigration office spokesman Edy Rohaedi stated on Thursday.

He pointed out that the evacuated immigrants from several countries in the Middle East and Asia are being accommodated in the former immigration office building.

According to him, there were 26 immigrants who were evacuated but three escaped when they arrived at the accommodation on Monday night.

"With police assistance, we are still hunting the three immigrants who escaped," he explained, adding that they used to be in Cilacap and knew their way around.
