According to Mirza, the PDIP obtained 44.02 percent of the votes cast by Indonesians living in Singapore, followed by the PAN (12.53%), the Golkar (8.22%), the Democrat (7.7%), the Gerindra (6.99%), the PKB (3.43%), the PKS (3.18%), the Hanura (3.18%), the PPP (1.9 %), the Nasdem (1.12%), the PKPI (0.50%) and the PBB (0.45%).
About 23,000 Indonesians cast their votes in the legislative election held at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore. However, only 22,233 votes were announced as legitimate.
Mirza said the number of voter participation in Singapore had increased compared to 2009s election, in which 18,286 people voted.
Indonesia is holding two elections this year, namely the parliamentary election on April 9 and the presidential election on July 9.
About 185.8 million Indonesians are eligible to cast their vote in the 2014 election, with 2.2 million among them living abroad. Those who live abroad cast their votes from March 30 to April 6 for the parliamentary elections. Their votes will be included in the electoral area of DKI Jakarta II, consisting of Central Jakarta and South Jakarta.
Previously, it was reported that the PDIP also won the legislative election held at the Indonesian Consulate General Office in Houston, the United States, with 705 votes out of a total 1304 voter turnout.
According to a press release from the Indonesian Consulate General in Houston, the PDIP won by obtaining 705 votes, followed by the PKS with 182 votes, the Gerindra with 105 votes, the Golkar with 47 votes, the PAN with 40 votes, the Democrat party with 49 votes, the PPP with 27 votes, the PKB with 20 votes, the Hanura with 14 votes, the PKPI with 17 votes and the Crescent Star party with three votes.
