According to Antaras observation, the security near polling booth location was heavily guarded by the police.
Apart from Jokowi and his wife Iriana, there were other figures exercising their right to vote at the same location namely former Vice President Try Sutrisno and former Sports Minister Hayono Isman.
The polling booth was opened since 07.00 in the morning and would be closed at 13.00 in the afternoon.
Indonesia is holding presidential elections on July 9, 2014.
The election is contested by the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa pair and the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla duo.
According to the KPU, a total of 190,307,134 voters have been registered (including 2,038,711 overseas voters) with 486,866 polling stations across the archipelago. (*)
