JAKARTA, Indonesia, July 24, 2014 (ANTARA/PRNewswire) -- This past May, with the ending of the third testing of 1X well, Shandong Kerui Petroleum Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Kerui Petroleum) successfully completed the construction of five wells as required in its first Indonesia exploratory well contract for both labor and materials. In a new region, with no data for reference, Kerui Petroleum, by relying on new technologies, took only 135 days to accomplish the task, which an international well-known drilling company could not realize in 328 days. The maximum drilling depth reached 5,386 meters, setting a new land well drilling depth record for Indonesia.

In the early preparation for this Indonesia project, many difficulties such as strange blocks and stratums, super long distance mobilization of complete sets of large equipment, complex sea, land and air logistic links and having to operate in a new social environment had to be overcome. However, Kerui was able to get personnel in place within 30 days, deliver complete sets of equipment within 55 days, and complete a 9,700 km mobilization of equipment via sea, land and air routes within 90 days. Getting equipment in place as scheduled helped guarantee that the installation, commissioning, testing and drilling startup could be carried out at the scheduled time.

Through utilizing meticulous project management measures, a site-specific flexible project management mode, enhanced risk control requirements, process improvement and application of innovative technology, Kerui Petroleum greatly reduced the faults and accidents most commonly seen in project construction, and realized efficient operation.

Kerui Petroleum has received praise for its efforts in the Indonesian oilfield service market and more and more clients have begun to discuss cooperation with Kerui. As of now, Kerui Petroleum has begun the construction of its second Indonesian exploratory well contract for both labor and materials.
