Jakarta, Oct 16 (Antara) - The Indonesian Peoples Consultative Assembly (MPR) Speaker Zulkifli Hasan revealed plans of meeting Prabowo Subianto, the Great Indonesia Movement Partys (Gerindras) chief patron, on Friday, to deliver an invitation to the presidential inauguration on October 20.

"We will meet him at his residence tomorrow," Zulkifli noted here on Thursday.

The MPR speaker made the remarks after meeting former president B.J. Habibie in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Thursday, to extend an invitation to attend the presidential inauguration.

He said his side will also try to arrange a meeting between Prabowo Subianto and Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who will be installed as Indonesias seventh president on Monday.

Zulkifli emphasized that if the meeting is realized, it will serve as a role model for the future, wherein after a presidential competition, all competitors were expected to reunite and to work hand in hand in developing Indonesia in the subsequent five years.

"Pak (Mr) Prabowo is a statesman. I am convinced he will attend the presidential inauguration," the new MPR speaker emphasized.

Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla will be installed as president and vice president on Monday after they won the presidential and vice presidential race on July 9, 2014.

Prabowo Subianto paired with Hatta Rajasa in the presidential elections.

In the meantime, National Mandate Party Chairman and former vice presidential candidate Hatta Rajasa expressed willingness to attend the presidential inauguration ceremony of Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla on October 20 at the MPR building.

"If I get an invitation, I will come," Hatta stated, adding that he had instructed all the elected members belonging to the Peoples Mandate Party in the House of Representatives (DPR) to attend the inauguration.

According to Hatta, the inauguration of the new president and vice president was an important national political agenda that must be supported.

"Every change in national leadership must be conducted smoothly, wisely, and respectably. This has to become a tradition that should be followed in Indonesia," Hatta emphasized.

Hatta revealed that he was unaware whether his running mate Prabowo Subianto will also attend the presidential inauguration.

"I do not know whether he will come or not because everybody has the right to come or not to come," stated Hatta.

Indonesia recently held its presidential election on July 9 with two pairs of presidential candidates: Prabowo Subianto with his running mate, Hatta Rajasa, and Joko Widodo with his vice presidential candidate, Jusuf Kalla.

On July 22, the General Elections Commission (KPU) declared Joko Widodo, or popularly known as Jokowi, and Jusuf Kalla as the winners of the 2014 presidential election.

However, presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto vociferously denounced the presidential election result alleging massive electoral frauds during the election day. He then filed a plea in the Constitutional Court (MK). After several hearing sessions, the MK rejected the entire plea put forth by Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa on the dispute of the presidential election results.
