Frost & Sullivan evaluated 10 major mobile device management (MDM) vendors in the Australia market, which grew 95.7 percent in 2013 from the previous year, according to the report. AirWatch is listed as one of two champions and is the highest champion in both revenue market share and future growth strategy. AirWatch "holds a dominant position in the market," according to the report, which cites the strong AirWatch channel partner network and its large scale deployments.
"The MDM market in Australia has been growing at such a rapid pace, and AirWatch's commitment to its channel partner network and enterprise-wide deployments has secured its spot as one of our top vendors in the market," said Audrey William, Research Director, Australian ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan. "The market is growing rapidly, nearly doubling in 2013, and AirWatch is uniquely poised to take advantage of this growth, thanks to its partnerships with the top telcos and other trusted mobility players in the region." William, who authored the report, will be speaking at AirWatch Connect Sydney this week.
Additional AirWatch strengths noted in the report include a diverse vertical presence and rapid customer adoption. Key channel partners include Telstra, MSC Mobility and UXC Connect, and AirWatch is continuing to grow relationships with Dimension Data and Optus. Frost & Sullivan also noted a significant AirWatch presence across major vertical markets as a key strength, thanks to "increasing interest from the Government and Healthcare sectors" in addition to the primary banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) and retail industries.
"AirWatch quickly prioritized Australia in our MDM strategy, and we were focused on building our partner ecosystem and trust with the top companies in the region, together creating the best solutions for our customers," said Rob Roe, managing director, Australia and New Zealand, AirWatch by VMware. "Our Champion placement in this report reflects our ability to execute the vision of simplifying enterprise mobility. This has now expanded to simplifying end user computing. We look forward to sharing information on the evolving market and many other accolades and innovations with our customers, partners and prospects at AirWatch Connect Sydney later this month."
Earlier this year, AirWatch announced Secure Content Locker complies with Australian Signals Directorate's requirements to provide PROTECTED level security status. In 2013, Frost & Sullivan reported AirWatch led the Australian MDM market based on market share. Frost & Sullivan also selected AirWatch for the 2013 Australia Excellence Award for Mobile Device Management Vendor of the Year.
