The head of state has proposed Commissioner General Budi Gunawan as the sole candidate, Chairman of the DPRs Commission III Azis Syamsuddin said here Monday.
Budi Gunawan has met the formal requirements to succeed General Sutarman who will end his tenure as the national police chief in October 2015, according to the legislator.
"We will study the candidates track record, dig deep for more information, and will select the best candidate," he added.
