We are addressing these complaints."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasona H. Laoly said he will implement an e-complaint system to accommodate the peoples reports especially about remissions and parole policies issued by the government.

"If the system is online, the information becomes visible to the people and we can reduce controversies," Yasona stated during a hearing session with the members of the House of Representatives Commission III at the parliament building on Wednesday.

Yasona was responding to a member of parliament who raised a recent controversy over the issuance of remissions to some convicts.

The minister admitted he often received complaints from the people about the remissions given to convicts especially those involved in corruption cases.

"We are addressing these complaints. That is why we want to implement an e-complaint system to accommodate the peoples opinions about remissions and parole policies," he added.

However, Yasona emphasized, remissions and parole are facilities granted to convicts who earn a good record while serving jail sentences. Remissions and parole also help reduce overcrowding in jails.
