... progress in nuclear talks is in need of political will, and the other parties have always had a problem with showing (enough) political will...Tehran (ANTARA News) - Iran's foreign minister on Wednesday criticized what he called the lack of political will in the world powers which is needed to make a progress in the ongoing nuclear talks, according to the official IRNA news agency.
"The progress in nuclear talks is in need of political will, and the other parties have always had a problem with showing (enough) political will," foreign minister, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, was quoted as saying.
Talking to the reporters in the Swiss city of Lausanne, Zarif said that "no decision has been made about issuing a statement, (since) we are not at the stage to talk decisively."
There have been some attempts to prepare a statement as a conclusion to the week-long nuclear talks, and "for sure, the result of the talks will not go beyond issuing a statement," the Iranian foreign minister added.
Iran and the world powers are likely to issue a joint statement on Wednesday to wrap up the Lausanne nuclear talks, Iran's senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said earlier on Wednesday.
Iran and the P5+1 group -- namely five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany resumed their week-long talks Wednesday after missing the Mrach 31 deadline for a framework agreement.
