Thank God, we have come to a decision."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Mayor of Surabaya Tri Rismaharini met with Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla here on Tuesday to discuss a wide range of issues, including the construction of the Turi Market in Surabaya city.
"Thank God, we have come to a decision. The vice president has greatly helped us to find solutions to the issue of the Turi Market," Rismaharini said at the Vice Presidential Office here.
She added that one of the solutions Kalla offered was increasing certification fees on traders.
"In response to the issue, the vice president immediately contacted the agrarian minister. He also ordered for the extension and revision of a contract with PT Gala Bumi Perkasa," she revealed.
The Turi Market, which caught fire seven years ago, has not been given a land and building certificate as the National Agrarian Board (BPN) has not issued a land ownership permit to the management of the market.
The BPN did not issue a land and building certificate to the market as the Supreme Court accepted state railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesias suit against the inclusion of its land in the certificate.
"He (the vice president) vowed to monitor it (the process of issuance of the certificate). With the help of the Vice Presidential Office, the process can be completed soon. We expect them (traders of the Turi Market) to be able to sell goods there before the fasting month," she noted.
At the meeting, both sides also discussed the frontage road in Ahmad Yani Street, brand permits of small and medium businesses, and the social security system (BPJS) in the manpower sector.
