Only a few months after being installed as provincial legislators, Totok Bahtiar and Lisna Alamri now sink in mire of legislation respectively on charge of corruption and drug abuse.
They are held at a police detention center in this provincial city.
More recently Hais Nusi, a member of the city council and Feryyanto Mayulu, a provincial legislator were also sent to the jail house respectively on charge of drug abuse and corruption.
Aleks Hasan , an anti corruption activist in Gorontalo, said it was sad to know that the four legislators had given a bad example to the people they represented. .
Aleks called on the people to be more selective in making their choice of candidates in legislative elections.
Deputy chairman of Golkar Fadel Muhamad expressed concerns with the cases involving the four legislators.
Fadel said the party would slap sanctions against three Golkar cadres involved in the cases - Totok Bahtiar, Lisna Alamri and Hais Nusi
