Jayapura, Papaua (ANTARA News)- An aircraft technician died and a pilot and four passengers were injured when a Komala Air commercial plane Cessna PAC-750 XL slid off at Ninia airport in Ninia sub-district, Yahukimo District, Papua Province, on Wednesday.

"Based on the information that we have received, Eka Wijaya Susanto was killed in the plane accident. He is a technician of Komala Air," Head of the Jayapura Search and Rescue (SAR) Section Susanti said.

The ill-fated plane flew from Wamena, Jayawijaya District, Papua, to Ninia, but it slid off the runway in the morning.

The plane carried six people consisting of the pilot, the technician and four passengers, when the accident happened.(*)
