"We have detained three people allegedly belonging to the ISIS group," Chief of the Cirebon District Police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Sugeng Hariyanto, said here on Friday.
The three suspected ISIS members were arrested from different places, he said, adding that two of them were arrested last night and the other this afternoon.
"We arrested two of them last night and the other this afternoon," he said.
He said the National Polices anti-terror squad Densus 88 is in the process of interrogating the three, identified by their initials as AA, DS and JN.
During the raid, the police also confiscated several ISIS symbols. "We have seized several ISIS symbols for further investigation," he said.
The arrest of three suspected ISIS members came a day after six bombs exploded at MH. Thamrin boulevard in front of a Starbucks coffee shop and a police traffic booth on Thursday.
As many as 24 people were injured and seven died in the attack.
Five of the seven casualties were the attackers themselves while two were civilians.
Among the dead were two suicide bomb attackers while three other terrorists were killed in the shootout with police.
Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command Chief Inspector General Tito Karnavian has confirmed that the terrorists who orchestrated the attack in Jakarta on Thursday were linked to the ISIS terror group.(*)
