There are 391 journalists from Indonesia and 136 journalists from foreign nations, Djoko Agung Harijadi, director general of Information and Public Communication of the Communication and Informatics Ministry, informed the press, here, Thursday.
The foreign reporters are from Japan, Britain, China, Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Gatar, among others.
Hasan Kleib, director general of multilateral affairs of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, stated that 47 of the 58 OIC member countries have confirmed their participation in the summit to discuss issues on Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Syarif (Jerusalem) in particular.
The five permanent members of the UN Security Council --- Russia, the United States, China, France, and Britain --- will also join the summit.
Russia and the United States will also represent the Middle East Quarter along with the UN and the European Union (EU).
Earlier, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi had remarked that the summit was aimed at again placing the issues of Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Syarif back on the "radar of the world."
"Through this summit, we want to put the Palestine issue back on the spotlight, bringing it to the focus of the international community," Retno affirmed here on Wednesday. (*)
