We must work quickly and energetically ..."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) issued directives to ministry officials of echelons I and II and government institutions here, Tuesday, focusing on improving the performance of state apparatuses and making efficient use of the state budget.
"All of our steps must be united, must be solid, and must be in sync from the upper levels to the lower ones," he stated in his address to the working meeting of government officials at the Finance Ministry.
All government officials need to coordinate, starting from the central government to the regional government levels, he remarked.
Rapid global changes require civil servants to work more diligently in response, he noted.
"We must work quickly and energetically, as I know that the spearhead of all the policies we have adopted are parents and government officials, not anyone else," he said.
The president arrived at the ministerial building of the Finance Ministry at around 9 a.m.
A number of ranking officials, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution; Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan; Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani; and Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly, were also present at the function.
