The Japanese government receives Indonesian nurses and caregivers based on the Japan-Indonesia Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), effectively in application since July 2008.
Under this agreement, this year, the 9th group of 265 people, comprising 33 prospective nurses and 232 caregivers, will be leaving for Japan.
The Charge daffaires Ad Interim of the Japanese Embassy to Indonesia, Kozo Honsei, will hold a function on June 14, 2016 to see them off.
These prospective nurses and caregivers have undergone Japanese language training for six months since December 2015.
The intensive training was conducted for six months, as stipulated in the Economic Partnership Agreement under the framework of cooperation between the two countries.
Once in Japan, the prospective nurses and caregivers will again undergo training in Japanese language for another six months.
They will start an apprenticeship or training practice in the recipient institutions before passing a national exam to become nurses and caregivers in Japan.(*)
