"We also laud DPDs commitment to supporting the tax amnesty policy, strengthening the Regional Development Bank, and developing cooperatives," President Jokowi noted in his state address at the annual session of the Peoples Consultative Assembly, here, Tuesday.
The DPD has strengthened its role, task, and function in line with the mandate of the Constitution and in accordance with the nations efforts to strive to fulfill the regions aspirations, he emphasized.
The Council has actively participated in issuing various government policies concerning improving the quality of regional head elections, accelerating development in border areas, and offering social protection.
The DPD has also supported efforts to promote the creative economy and helped address violence against children and youth.
Former president Megawati Soekarnoputri, former president BJ Habibie, former vice president Try Sutrisno, former vice president Boediono, and former president Abdurrahman Wahids wife, Shinta Nuriyah, were among those present at the occasion.(*)
