Gerung, West Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - The Swedish government plans to build a biogas power plant from waste collected at a landfill in West Lombok district, West Nusa Tenggara province.

"The Swedish government will use the wastes to produce biogas. The equipment will be directly brought from the country after conducting a survey," a representative of the Swedish government, Thomas Croock, said here on Monday.

Croock and the Swedish government team has visited the landfill together with the local government staff members.

Meanwhile, the Head of Sanitation, Parks and Urban Planning Office of West Lombok, Lalu Winengan, said the Swedish government representatives have visited the Kebon Kongkok landfill to see the potentials.

"They will help us to process wastes into an energy source and have an economic value," he said.

It is expected that the waste power plant will be built and therefore, increase domestic's economic activities.
