Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu said here, Friday, that Christmas celebrations throughout the archipelago would be held peacefully.

"God willing, there will be no disruption of Christmas celebrations as long as there are no provocateurs who disrupt this religious event," he told journalists when asked about security conditions ahead of Christmas celebrations in Indonesia.

Ryacudu noted that Indonesia is a peace-loving nation. Therefore, every Christian can celebrate Christmas without any security disturbances.

"Our people are actually good. Only the provocateurs create disturbances," he stated.

National police spokesman Sen. Coms. Rikwanto earlier said that securing the celebrations of this years Christmas and New Years Eve would be part of the police departments concerns. Besides this, the police will also focus on managing traffic congestion in certain areas, including the Brebes exit toll road, during the peak of this years public holiday season.

"We are going to analyze any traffic congestion potential on all roads to ensure the smooth flows of cars," he added.
