Jakarta (ANTARA News) - House leaders met President Joko Widodo to discuss revisions in the 2016 national priority legislation program (Prolegnas), including the revision of the Legislative Institutions (MD3) Law.

"The revision of the Legislative Institutions (MD3) Law will be held during the recess period, but the plenary session will be conducted on January 10, 2017," deputy speaker of the House of Representatives Fahri Hamzah said here on Friday.

Hamzah stated that the president had understood the details of the proposed revision and asked about technical issues.

"Basically, there is no problem. The government must send a letter from the president. The president should send ministers to conduct discussions with the House, in accordance with the invitation from the House," he remarked.

Fahri Hamzah earlier said that the ruling Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), and the Golkar, proposed revision of the Legislative Institutions (MD3) Law and will hold a meeting with House Legislative Body (Baleg) to assure harmony.

"The Consultative Body (Bamus) and House Legislative Body (Baleg) will hold a meeting during the recess period," he remarked.

He said he expected that the discussions could be conducted at the beginning of the plenary session.(*)
