In his written statement received by ANTARA in Jakarta, Mulyadi asked the minister to create a deterrent effect by severely punishing the polluters.
Apart from the tough measures, the ministry should publish a comprehensive information on the land resources.
The information remains important for some national programs, including an asset redistribution, the land reform, as well as the social forestry, which is already covered by the state-owned forestry firm (Perhutani).
He further stated that the parliament has planned to set a task force of environmental law enforcement.
At a different occasion, a maritime and fishery expert Abdul Halim stated that the government needs to effectively restore the environment, which now has been degraded.
"This environmental issue remains a serious challenge which has to be immediately resolved by the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Fishery," Halim, who chaired as an executive director of Maritime Studies for Humanities, said during the commemoration of the International Environment Day on June 5.
He further warned some companies which have been included in the environment ministrys "red" list.
The red list indicates the companies that have poor records on protecting the environment.
Hence, the ministries need to strengthen coordination to set an effective measure to halt destruction and restore the wellbeing of the environment, he stated.
Apart from regulations, Halim noted that the authority has to urge the fishermen to change their fishing methods to more sustainable equipment.(*)
