The five suspects, who were identified by their initials as M, Z, TM, S, and D, were arrested on Medan-Banda Aceh highway on Friday (Aug 17), BNN Deputy Chief for Eradication Inspector General Arman Depari stated here on Saturday.
The crystal meth, believed to be smuggled from Malaysia, was packed in two sacks, he noted.
Depari remarked that BNN officers arrested all the five suspects after questioning T, who acted as a messenger.
According to T, the crystal meth, which belonged to D, was smuggled from the neighboring country aboard his vessel.
During the raid, the BNN officers also seized two cars and six mobile phones.
