The flood-affected villages include Sungai Raya, Sungai Junjangan, and Tasik Raya, Muhammad Wardan, district head of Indragiri Hilir, said here on Monday.
Wardan expressed his concern over the natural disaster and ordered the deployment of rescuers to help the flood victims.
Several command posts have been set up to assist the flood-affected families.
Junjangan village is the worst-affected village, where roads were also flooded, according to Yuspik, acting head of the Inhil disaster mitigation office.
The flooding had been triggered by incessant heavy rains over the last several days.
Yuspik urged the local villagers to remain vigilant as rains were expected to continue due to monsoon season.
Meanwhile, a flash flood hit four sub-districts in the Indonesian province of West Nusa Tenggara on Saturday evening, leaving one person dead and five others injured.
All the five injured have been rushed to a nearby public service post, spokesman for the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) office in the West Nusa Tenggara provincial capital of Mataram, I Gusti Lanang Wiswananda, revealed on Saturday night.
He added that a nine-year-old child was killed after the wall of his house collapsed.
By Saturday night, Basarnas personnel, along with Indonesian military and police members, were still stationed in several affected areas to distribute humanitarian aid and evacuate residents.
Separately, on Saturday, Chief of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Disaster Mitigation Board (BPBD), H Muhammad Rum, remarked that a flash flood, triggered by heavy rainfall, hit 11 villages in four sub-districts in East Lombok district.
Based on a preliminary report, some 500 houses located around Pandandure dam were affected by the flood, with 50 of them seriously damaged, he concluded.
