The event boasts a lucrative purse of US$750,000 and the winner Justin Rose was awarded an exemption into higher level tournaments as Open Championship and the World Golf Championships which is to be held in Mexico this year. Adding to the importance of the tournament is the fact Justin Rose will also receive 20 Official World Golf Ranking points (OWGR) which can only be awarded in the leading world-class professional tours.
