Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesia Asian Games 2018 Organizing Committee (INASGOC) aims to earn Rp10-20 billion from the sale of official Asian Games souvenirs following their launch on Friday.

"We hope the public will have high enthusiasm on the variety of Asian Games souvenirs so that we can achieve the target," INASGOC Deputy II for Competition Administration, Francis Wanandi said.

The launch of the 18th Asian Games souvenirs is three months behind schedule due to preparations to ensure the quality of the products to be sold.

"We have made the preparations since late 2017. We want to ensure that the products will be in perfect condition and will not disappoint the public," he said.

He said the Asian Games 2018 souvenirs have attracted the public since INASGOC opened four exemplary shops in Jakarta late 2017.

"If fake products circulate in the market, this means that public demand for the souvenirs is high. But on the other hand, there has been something wrong with product license," he said.

INASGOC strictly prohibits unlicensed Asian Games souvenirs and will impose sanctions on people selling them.

"We encourage sellers to cooperate with INASGOC in selling licensed products. We protect licensed products by putting a hologram on each product," he said.

The Asian Games 2018 souvenirs will also be sold through a number of shops so they can reach all provinces in the country.

The prices of the souvenirs range from Rp3,500 to Rp5 million.
