"This cooperation is aimed at enabling us to explore the business development outside of ticket (NFB) and mobile payment for MRT Jakarta station and depot area, including surrounding buildings".
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) of Jakarta is cooperating with Go-Jek Indonesia on the development of Non-Farebox Business (NFB) and mobile payment for MRT Jakarta.

The cooperation was conducted through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between President Director of PT MRT Jakarta, William P Sabandar, and President of Go-Jek Indonesia, Andre Soelistyo.

"This cooperation is aimed at enabling us to explore the business development outside of ticket (NFB) and mobile payment for MRT Jakarta station and depot area, including surrounding buildings," Sabandar stated here on Tuesday.

In terms of mobile payment for MRT Jakarta, the more the payment platform for the use of MRT, the easier it will be for the users to use MRT.

"This cooperation also supports the MRT Jakarta mission, which is to revive the urban environment through the development of the concept of transit area or Rail and Transit-Oriented Development," he noted.

He added that the cooperation includes several things, such as preparing the concept for developing the basis of implementation of NFB development study and mobile payment in the area around MRT Jakarta station and depot, conducting a study of proof of concept of mobile payment integration, and conducting discussion session and updating product knowledge.

"Therefore, later, the users of online transportation who already use mobile payment in transactions do not need to prepare Jakarta MRT ticket card separately," he remarked.

In addition, they are also considering a payment system that is between the cost of MRT tickets and some of the cost of other modes of transportation tickets.

"Thus, people can move their modes effectively and efficiently, and the target of 173,400 passengers per day can be fulfilled," he explained.

On the same occasion, Go-Jek Indonesia President, Andre Soelistyo, revealed that the collaboration between MRT Jakarta and Go-Jek Indonesia will make it easier for the people of Jakarta to carry out their daily activities.

"The cooperation between MRT Jakarta`s infrastructure capabilities and Go-Jek`s is to improve the livelihoods of millions of Jakarta residents in the future," he added. *** 3 ***
