Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The All Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) said at least three soccer fields that will be used for practice ahead of the upcoming 18th Asian Games, should be renovated.

"The renovation of (soccer fields) must be in accordance with Asian standards; every soccer field must have a locker room, including toilets," Ratu Tisha Destria, secretary to PSSI, said here on Friday.

So far, there are eight soccer fields for the Asian Games practice matches, she explained.

The soccer fields to be used for practice include the Sutasoma in Halim Perdanakusuma area, East Jakarta, and one private-owned practice field for the match, which will be held at the Wibawa Mukti stadium in Cikarang, West Java.

In the meantime, the soccer team which will play at the Patriot Candrabhaga in Bekasi, West Java, will practice at the A and B fields of the Bung Karno main stadium in Senayan area, Jakarta.

In addition, the team, which is scheduled to compete at the Pakan Sari stadium, in Cibinong, West Java, will practice in a field belonging to the Persikabo Bogor team.

Apart from that, the team, which will compete at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api stadium, will practice at the soccer fields belonging to the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and Padjadjaran University.

A total of 32 men`s soccer teams will compete in the 18th Asian Games.

The 18th Asian Games will be held from August 18 to September 2, 2018, in Jakarta and the South Sumatra provincial capital city of Palembang.

The Asian Games 2018, which will see participation from 45 countries, will feature 462 events of 40 sports, of which 32 are Olympic sports and eight are non-Olympic sports.

The Olympic sports include aquatics, athletics, fencing, weightlifting, basketball, handball, badminton, baseball/softball, cycling, equestrian, golf, wrestling, hockey, judo, karate, canoeing and kayaking, sailing, shooting, modern pentathlon, archery, sport climbing, rowing, rugby, gymnastics, skateboarding, football, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, boxing, triathlon, and volleyball.

The non-Olympic sports include bowling; bridge; cricket; kabaddi; martial arts, such as jujitsu, kurash, pencak silat, sambo, and wushu; mechanical sports, such as paragliding and jet skiing; squash; and sepak takraw.
