In the run-up to the Eid al-Fitr homecoming in 2018, Darmawan had observed an increase in the number of passengers at the Kualanamu Airport.
Currently, the increase in the number of passengers is some eight percent, but it can soar to 14 percent on certain days.
The three airline companies were proposing additional flights to facilitate transportation during Eid al-Fitr due to an increase in the number of passengers.
"On an average, every airline proposes four or five additional flights," he stated.
Usually within a certain time, the airline will re-apply the additional flight schedule due to an increase in the number of passengers.
Usually, a drastic increase in the number of passengers is observed two to three days before Eid al-Fitr, he conveyed.
However, an increase in the number of passengers has led to an increase in the ticket prices at the Kualanamu Airport.
"Since this is the peak season, we usually experience the lower limit, like a tremendous surge," he added.
