Jusuf Kalla was present at a meeting of the Central Sulawesi Christian Church (GKST) Priests in Tentena, here, Wednesday, to deliver a speech.
"Upon arrival in Poso and on the way to this place, I saw so many churches. There is a church in every one kilometer, I think. It shows that the religious life here is extraordinary," Kalla noted in his remarks.
The religious life will be better if the GKST priests, in their sermons, encourage harmony in Poso, Kalla, who was accompanied by Central Sulawesi Governor Longki Djanggola and Poso District Head Darmin Agustinus Sigilipu, remarked.
Themed "God has lifted us up from Great Ocean," the meeting was attended by some one thousand priests from the provinces of Central, South, and West Sulawesi.
The meeting was the second of its kind for GKST priests, since the first one organized in Kolonodale, North Morowali District, in 2017.
The first church in Poso was built in 1893.
