Mataram, W Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News)- An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter Scale hit East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), killing five eople, including one Malaysian woman.

"The provisional report that we have received, says that five people were killed, but we have not received data of the victims` identities," Agung Pramuja, said on Sunday.

Siti Nur Ismawida (30), a Malaysian citizen, was dead after being hit a wall that collapsed because of the Earthquake, Sembalun, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

The earthquake hit Lombok and Sumawa Islands, West Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday at 6:47 a.m. local time, but did not have potential to trigger a tsunami.

The tremor`s epicenter was located at 8.4 degree southern latitude and 116.55 degree eastern longitude, 47 km east of Mataram and at a depth of 24 km.

Following the earthquake, Lombok was jolted by tens of aftershocks.
