Jakarta (ANTARA News) - General Election Commission (KPU) Chairman Arief Budiman has said all the pairs must fulfill all the requirements to be declared as presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2019 presidential election.

"All the conditions must be fulfilled cumulatively. If all have been fulfilled, all will be determined," Budiman remarked when met at the Health Examination Unit of Gatot Subroto Army Hospital here on Sunday afternoon.

Budiman visited the hospital for the second time to review health checks for Joko Widodo and Ma`ruf Amin (Jokowi-Ma`ruf Pair) that was ongoing since 08 am WIB on Sunday.

He said the health examination was one of a number of requirements for prospective pairs to be appointed as presidential and vice presidential candidates, but he did not specify what other requirements are.

He has not been able to ascertain the timing of the submission of the results of the health examination of the presidential and vice presidential candidates the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) to the KPU.

"The examination results will determine whether the presidential and vice presidential candidates are truly healthy and able to carry out their duties when elected as president or vice president," Budiman said.

He said the KPU had scheduled to set the presidential election on August 20, 2019.

In addition to the Jokowi-Ma`ruf pair, the future presidential and vice presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga S Uno (Prabowo-Uno Pair) will undergo a medical examination on Monday.

He also explained that the medical examination for the presidential and vice presidential candidates was only done once at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital.
