Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesians -- Nunu Nugraha, Asep Yuldan Sani, and Anggi Faisal Mubarok -- won another gold, with 465 points, in the arts number in Pencak Silat in the men`s group category at the 2018 Asian Games.
The group was able to defeat their opponents, including the group from Vietnam, comprising Tien Dung Vu, Xuan Thanh Nguyen, and Van Nam Luu, who won a silver medal, with 450 points, while the group from Thailand of Fadil Dama, Masofee Wani, and Islamee Wani won a bronze medal, with 448 points.
Head of the Indonesian contingent Syafruddin handed over the medals to the winners.
The gold medal won by the group became the 15th gold for Indonesia in the 2018 Asian Games.
In the finals of the arts class on Monday, Indonesia won all the gold medals that were contested.
Apart from the competition in the arts category, fighters will also go head-to-head in matches scheduled on Monday noon, in which five Indonesian athletes are competing, including Abdul Malik, who will go against Malaysian Pencak Silat fighter Muhammad Faizul M. Nasir in the men`s B class (50-55 kg).
The second match will bring Aji Bangkit Pamungkas against his Singaporean opponent Sheik Ferdous Sheik Alauddin in the men`s I class (85-90 kg).
M Iqbal Candra Pratama will go head-to-head against Vietnamese fighter Ngoc Toan Nguyen in the men`s D class (60-65 kg) in the third match.
Meanwhile, in the fourth match, Sarah Tria Monita will compete against Nong Oy Vongphakdy from Laos in the women`s C class (55-60 kg), while in the fifth match, fighter Komang Harik Adi Putra will face Malaysian Mohd Al Jufferi Jamari in the men`s E class (65-70 kg).
