Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) informed convicted corruptor Setya Novanto, involved in the e-KTP project case, to submit power of attorney regarding the transfer of one of his bank accounts to the KPK`s account.

"After the KPK had previously carried out the book-transfer of money in Setya Novanto`s Bank Mandiri account, today, Setya Novanto handed over the power of attorney to transfer the book to one of the bank accounts," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Furthermore, Diansyah said, the KPK would conduct checks and book-transfers from the Setya Novanto account to the KPK`s account.

In addition, the KPK Execution Prosecutor was also given the power to receive compensation money for land located in Jatiwaringin, East Jakarta, related to land acquisition for the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train that passes through Setya Novanto`s land.

"As for the land and buildings in the Cipete area, South Jakarta, they will be sold by the Setanto Novanto family and the proceeds from the sale will be deposited into the KPK`s account as part of the replacement money payment," he said.

Diansyah stated that the total estimated value of land in Jatiwaringin and land and buildings in Cipete were around Rp13 billion.

Previously, Deisti Astriani Tagor, wife of Setya Novanto, had visited the KPK building in Jakarta on Tuesday to coordinate the payment of the replacement money.

"On September 18, 2018, the Setanto Novanto family came to the KPK and were accepted by the Asset Tracking Unit, Management of Evidence and Execution (Labuksi) KPK," Diansyah said.

Deisti said that in principle, he was willing to pay all the replacement money in stages.

Previously, the KPK Execution Prosecutor had carried out book-entry from Novya`s Setya account at Bank Mandiri to the KPK`s account in the amount of Rp1.1 billion for the benefit of the replacement money.

Then, Novanto also returned deposit money worth Rp5 billion and also repaid US$100 thousand.

Novanto has been sentenced to 15 years in prison plus a fine of Rp500 million for three months in prison plus payment of a replacement of $7.3 million (around Rp65.7 billion at an exchange rate of Rp9,000 per US dollar at the time).
