Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The Indonesia Asian Para Games 2018 Organizing Committee (INAPGOC) will continue intensifying the promotion of the Games, which are scheduled to be held here from October 6 to 13, chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari said here on Friday.

"There are only 15 days to go. We will continue intensifying promotions," he said.

"We are competing against time. We have to be ready in every way to prepare for the Games in the last 15 days," he said.

He said he was optimistic that all the preparations would be completed in time. "We will ensure all Asian Games banners, ads, ornaments have all been set up across the capital city," he said.

He said preparations were also underway at venues, including adding of new facilities and repairing those that were damaged.

The Asian Para Games will be attended by 2,800 athletes, 1,800 officials, as well as 500 media outlets from home and across 41 countries abroad.

Athletes will compete in a total of 18 sports branches in the event including basketball, volleyball, fencing, table tennis, futsal, swimming, shooting, judo, cycling, chess, weightlifting, bowling, badminton, running, boccia, archery, handball, and tennis.
