Kalla made the call in his speech at the general debate session of the 73rd UN General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, United States, on Thursday afternoon local time.
"The international community can no longer continue to remain silent. We must immediately call for negotiations to bring a two-state solution into reality," the Indonesian vice president said before UN member states in New York.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict that has yet to be resolved is the center for realizing peace in the Middle East.
Immediate threats to the status quo of Jerusalem, millions of Palestinian refugees are at stake, and the humanitarian situation is getting worse day by day.
"The current situation does not only endanger the peace process. It destroys the hopes of the Palestinian people and all of us for an independent Palestinian State," the vice president said.
For this reason, Kalla called for commitment and responsibility for peace that must be replicated in all regions, including in the Middle East.
"Our commitment to peace will be questioned if we cannot resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict," Kalla said.
Further, he asserted that Indonesia will continue to stand with the Palestinian people until the day they gain independence.
