Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The government is considered to have mobilized all its power in distributing aid, and in identifying

various losses and damage caused by the earthquake and tsunami that hit Palu and Donggala in Central Sulawesi.

"From the field we can see how the government has exerted all its strength from the military, police, National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB), and various ministries and institutions to deal with the disaster in the province," House Speaker Bambang Soesatyo remarked in a release received here on Wednesday.

As a result, the House speaker said that at this tie various regions in Central Sulawesi that had been previously closed were now being accessed.

This showed that the state was also present in serving its people, the politician from Golkar party remarked.

On Wednesday, the House speaker symbolically provided assistance from the House of Representatives of Rp100 million and from the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Rp50 million for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Palu, Donggala, and other affected areas in Central Sulawesi.

In addition, the Indonesian House of Representatives and the Regional Representative Council also symbolically provided 1,000 packages of basic necessities, such as clothing, food, milk, baby diapers, blankets or medicines.

"This assistance is a form of solidarity in national ties. Our brothers and sisters who are victims do not face this disaster alone. All the people of Indonesia and the international community are beside them," said the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
