Lonely Planet Director for Client Solutions Ali Teeman conferred the award on Yahya at the Indonesia Pavilion at the World Travel Market (WTM) London held at Excel London from November 5 to 7.
Indonesia is among the most desired tourist destinations in the world, Teeman told Antara after conferring the Lonely Planet award on the Indonesian minister.
In its Best in Travel 2019, Lonely Planet ranks Indonesia the seventh best destination in the world.
Yahya said the award is in recognition of Indonesia`s rising tourism. "It is a proud moment for Indonesia to become one of the world`s best places to visit. It will have a good impact on Indonesian tourism," he said.
Situated in front of special hall in the Asian section, the Indonesia Pavilion stands out among the participants from Asian countries.
The pavilion managed to attract visitors thanks to the Ayoub Zyckra Dance Music Performance, coffee corner and spa.
Lonely Planet is a travel guide and is the largest digital media publisher in the world. Nearly 75 percent of the company`s stocks are held by BBC Worldwide, which bought it from Maureen and Tony Wheeler in 2007.
