London (ANTARA News) - Some Indonesian seeded export products, including wood and its derived products, palm oil, coffee, handicraft, chocolates, and spices, have penetrated the market in the European Union region.

The statement was made by Indonesian Consul General in Marseille Asianto Sinambela at a meeting with businesses under the Riviera Business Club, Galleries Lafayette and Vanille et Produit Sas, and corporations from Nice, the French Riviera.

Economic Consul to the Indonesian Consulate General in Marseille Yonatri Rilmania informed Antara in London, Wednesday, that the meeting aimed at intensifying business and economic relations between businesses in Indonesia and those in Nice.

Nice business circles welcomed the initiative and efforts to increase cooperation with the Indonesian Consulate General, as expressed by the President of the Business Network Association, Riviera Business Club (RBC) in the Alpes-Maritime region. RBC comprises 200 entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals.

The events and workshops can also serve as an opportunity for the Indonesian consulate to promote trade and establish partnerships.

Also present at the meeting were representatives from Galleries Lafayette, the largest department store chain in France, with over 60 locations in France and overseas.

Their representatives in Nice had reportedly offered a venue for a week of exhibition for Indonesian products in 2019.

The Indonesian Consulate General is coordinating with Indonesian businessmen in Marseille and Indonesia to seize the opportunity as a means of promotion.

In addition, the Vanille et Produit Sas company, a wholesale spice company for both exports and imports from Madagascar, India, Tahiti, Mexico, and Indonesia, had requested data from Indonesian spice exporters.

The entrepreneurs are committed to establishing sustainable cooperation and expect a positive response from business partners in Indonesia. Market opportunities in Nice in the south of France are still wide open, especially for spices and Indonesian SME products.
