With such potential, efforts to strengthen economic relations between Indonesia and Germany are deemed necessary, including to strengthen investment and trade cooperation in future.
"The development of trade and investment relations between Indonesia and Germany still needs to be enhanced. There are many business opportunities in Indonesia that can be developed by German businesses," Soetikno remarked.
The Consul General noted that several facilities were offered for doing business and increasing investment in Indonesia, including an integrated Online Single Submission (OSS) System, which can be used by foreign investors.
Moreover, the Indonesian Government is offering a tax holiday to foreign investors under Finance Minister`s Regulation Number 35 of 2018 on Facilitation for Reducing Corporate Income Tax.
Several German businessmen plan to expand their business in Indonesia in the fields of health, food supplements, and energy-efficient technologies as well as reduce exhaust emissions.
The association of German small and medium entrepreneurs also expressed their willingness to help promote trade and investment in Indonesia.
The German businesses positively welcomed the promotion program that was considered effective in providing information on business potentials in Indonesia.
Several German businesses, especially small and medium enterprises called Mittelstand, have yet to obtain comprehensive information on Indonesia`s economic potentials.
