"The Ministry of Industry is supervising the implementation of Industry 4.0. For the fashion industry, we have designed a business ecosystem that connected the supply chain, from the upstream to the downstream," said Director of Small and Medium Industry for Chemistry, Clothing, Crafts and Miscellaneous of the Ministry of Industry E Ratna Utarianingrum in Jakarta, Saturday.
She explained that the ecosystem design touched on the integration of database, in order to open the access for each levels of the supply chain, which surely involved the designers.
"The platforms are already there, we will only need to utilize it and synergize it with the ecosystem we are building," she said.
The Ministry hoped to try out the design in the next year.
"We plan to carry out an implementation test in 2019 for the fashion industry, involving designers and Center of Excellence as well as other stakeholders," she said after closing the Creative Business Incubator 2018 program, geared for business makers under 28 years of age.
The program is a collaboration between the government, private sector and academicians, in the planning, implementing, business pitching and evaluation processes.
In formulating the curriculum and executing the program, the Ministry also have teams from Prasetya Mulya University involved.
For the evaluation and pitching of the business plan, the Ministry involved BRI bank, Angel Investment Network Indonesia, Talent Indonesia and Mekar.id, whilst for product marketing, Makerfest Tokopedia is the private actor that is also involved.
