Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi is scheduled to attend the 46th ministerial conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on March 1 and 2, 2019.

The conference will have the theme 50 Years of Islamic Cooperation Road Map for Prosperity and Development, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Arrmanatha Nasir said in a press briefing here on Thursday.

He stated that the conference is expected to issue a declaration containing OIC member states` political commitments to issues related to the theme.

In addition, the meeting will also issue 130 resolutions to be approved at the 46th OIC ministerial meeting, including those related to cooperation in the financial and political fields and Palestine.

Several issues will become the center of participants` attention, including progress achieved in the Palestine-Israel peace process, international efforts to combat terrorism, and economic cooperation.

"For Indonesia, several issues will become the center of attention, including encouraging cooperation among OIC members to cooperate in the global compact on safe and orderly migration," he remarked.

Apart from that, the Indonesian government will take advantage of the meeting to raise support for its candidacy for the membership of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2020-2022 term.
