Makassar, S Sulawesi(ANTARA News) - The South Sulawesi Provincial Police has arrested three police officers at a hotel in the South Sulawesi provincial capital of Makassar on drug charges.

They were arrested along with a girl after the police received a tip-off from the public, spokesman for the provincial police Senior Commissioner Dicky Sondani said here on Sunday.

Soon after receiving the tip-off, a team of officers led by the provincial police`s drugs director Senior Commissioner Hermawan raided one of the hotel`s rooms and arrested two of the police officers and the girl, he said.

When the team searched the hotel room, one of the police officers tried to hide a sachet of crystal meth under the bed. However, the team found the contraband, he said.

During the raid, the police also seized a spoon of crystal meth, five cellular phones, Rp3.8 million in cash and a revolver.

The revolver belongs to one of the police officers who works for human resource development at the provincial police.

The 37-year old police officer is being held in custody at the provincial police along with three other suspects.

"The three officers have been questioned, and so has the girl," he said.
